Yo'semite National Park

Naturparken ligger i den centrale del af Sierra Nevada, Californien, oprettet 1890; ca. 3000 km2. Parken rummer bestande af over 2000 år gamle mammuttræer (Sequoiadendron giganteum), men kendes især for den af istidsgletschere udformede Yosemite Valley. I dalen, der afgrænses af El Capitan, Half Dome og andre op til 1000 m høje, næsten lodrette granitklipper, findes en række imponerende vandfald, anført af Upper Yosemite Falls med tre enkeltfald på tilsammen 740 m. Belastningen fra bilkørsel og sportsaktiviteter som bjergklatring, rafting og skiløb udgør et voksende problem.

From San Francisco take Interstate 80 to Interstate 580
Take Interstate 580 to Hwy. 132 East
At Modesto take Hwy. 99 South
At Merced take Hwy. 140 East
Mariposa is approx. 40 Miles

All public roadways into the Park are well-maintained and open year-round, with the exception of Tioga Pass Road (Hwy 120 East between Crane Flat and Hwy. 395 in Lee Vining). Yosemite does NOT restrict auto access into the Park at any time of year. For guest convenience, a free shuttle bus services 21 stops throughout Yosemite Valley, as well as transportation between Yosemite Valley and Badger Pass in the winter and between Wawona Grocery and Mariposa Grove of Big Trees in the warmer months. Bring the family, bring your car and once here, let us do the driving so you can spend more time viewing the sights!
