Forsøg på tale til Olga på vej til lufthavnen i Flores:
Since we left
Denmark - now more than a fortnight ago - we have been flying a lot, and we have been
driving a lot. In spite of that I would like to say a few words about a ship, - not a ship on the River Dulce, but a ship which we have met here in this bus. It has been a ship,
which Bente and I really have enjoyed in many ways and I think that the rest of
the Danish passengers agree with me when I'm saying the following words:
The ship in this
bus I would like to call a leadership, a fellowship or a companionship, or whatever sort
of ship you would like to call it. Of course, I'm
thinking of the way in which our two splendid guides have been working together.
In this bus here we have always felt utmost comfortable, all of us.

Dear Olga!
You have
been a splendid guide, taking care of us in the most wonderful way, giving us a
lot of relevant information. I think that we've got the impression
that you have a fantastic knowledge of the history of your country, of the
geography of your country and also of its culture. This morning some of us had
the possibility again to listen to you when you told us about different trees and
plants along the path, which we following at that time. There is no doubt that
you would easily be able to tell us a lot about Guatemalan nature, fauna as well
as flora.
By giving us small lectures you have introduced us to the very exciting traditions of the Mayan world, and if there were things we didn't quite understand in the beginning, you were always able to give us further information. Even silly and naughty questions from my side have always been answered in a very extensive way - and always with a smile.
You have many reasons for being proud of your country, and I hope for my country that more Danes will come over here and have the chance to listen to your lectures and see you giving a smiling and satisfactury answer to whatever question these Danish tourists might have.
I hope that you'll
bring forward a positive and well deserved compliment to the three different busdrivers you have introduced to
us. I feel that a good
busdriver here in Guatemala is a busdriver whos is taking no chances. Sitting here in
front of the bus some of us have seen very risky situations just in front of
us - not because of our busdriver, but when other local busdrivers have tried to take over other sorts of traffic.
The three different drivers of
our small bus have never brought us into a situation in which we felt that we ourselves
were put into a dangerous situation.
So Olga, will
you please bring these positive compliments forward to the three drivers of our
bus, especially when you'll meet Otto
again. We felt sorry when we had to say goodbye to him, and we all hope that his
bus has recovered from a small temporary illness.
Let me finish by saying to you Olga, that I've got the impression that Jacques has been feeling very much relaxed cooperating with you.
